Sweet Talk

jam and jelly

Sorry for the long absence from posting to the FACS Soundtrack!  We’ve been on the road connecting with FACS teachers in Arkansas and Texas.  Our schedule didn’t leave much time for posting.  Sorry!  I’ll try to catch up by posting more than one song each day in the upcoming weeks.

Today’s song is one that I hadn’t thought about in years until I heard it on the car radio during our trip.  How much more FACS-friendly can you get than today’s song: Jam Up and Jelly Tight by Tommy Roe.  Even though the lyrics don’t have much to do with food, the song can still be used for introducing the topic of preparing jams and jellies.  (That was one of our FACS Summer School lessons, BTW.  Check out all the lessons on Pinterest. http://pinterest.com/FreshFACS/ )  It could be also be useful to preface a discussion of food high in sugar.  Hope you find the song fun and useful!

Typical song from the 60s!

Jam Up and Jelly Tight
My, my,my,my, baby, now you’re outta sight
Jam Up and Jelly Tight
You look a little naughty but you’re so polite
Jam Up and Jelly Tight
You won’t say you will, but there’s a chance that you might

I said; the first day I met you
Someday, I’m gonna pet you
Now you’re here and baby I love it
So come on and give me some lovin’

Jam Up and Jelly Tight
My, my,my,my, baby, now you’re outta sight
Jam Up and Jelly Tight
You look a little naughty but you’re so polite
Jam Up and Jelly Tight
You won’t say you will, but there’s a chance that you might

You’ve got a sweet disposition
So come on and give me permission
For one kiss and maybe another
You’ll see we were meant for each other

Jam Up and Jelly Tight
My, my,my,my, baby, now you’re outta sight
Jam Up and Jelly Tight
You look a little naughty but you’re so polite
Jam Up and Jelly Tight, yeah
Jam Up and Jelly Tight

Have a great weekend!
