Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is a topic that overlaps many of the FACS content areas.  Whether you’re instructing your students in the successful operation of a day care center or the fundamentals of running a catering service, it’s all about using the skills learned in class to making a living, right?

Of course, the likelihood of getting rich by running a day care center or catering service are pretty remote.  Okay, Martha Stewart is an exception to that statement.  I’m aware that she got her start as a business owner by running a catering service. (Of course, her background as a stock broker didn’t hurt!)  The bottom line is that whatever business your students would consider going into, their goal is to make money.  That’s the foundation of the entrepreneurial spirit and that’s what today’s song is all about.
