Cherry Blossom Time

cherries

We’re preparing for a trip to Washington DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival, so I’m a little preoccupied with all things cherry.  Today’s song title is a classic that’s been recorded by many, many artists—Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries.  I chose a version that I think will appeal to your students.

Here are a couple of websites about the nutritional content of cherries as well as some recipes.  FYI—February is National Cherry Month.

This version was recorded for the movie My Sister’s Keeper.

Life is just a bowl of cherries
Don’t take it serious,
Life’s too mysterious
You work,
You save,
You worry so
But you can’t take your dough
When you go, go, go

So keep repeating "It’s the berries."
The strongest oak must fall
The sweet things in life
To you were just loaned
So how can you lose
What you’ve never owned

Life is just a bowl of cherries
So live and laugh, aha!
Laugh and love
Live and laugh,
Laugh and love,
Live and laugh at it all
